New Director at Creativity Works

Oliver Jones has joined Creativity Works, an Arts and Health Charity based in Radstock, as their new Director. Oliver is making the move from London where he was Creative Learning Manager at Cambridge Junction. Previous to this he spent five years as Associate Director of Trestle Theatre Company where he not only directed touring productions and large-scale community projects, but also managed their participation and education work. He is also an Associate Director of the National Youth Theatre, a visiting lecturer at E15 Drama School, and the Artistic Director of his own theatre company, Blindeye that creates work on political and human rights themes.

Creativity Works are very pleased to welcome Oliver to the organisation to further develop their work as an Arts Council England funded National Portfolio Organisation, and to guide their work in the field of socially engaged arts. The organisation runs high quality arts projects, increasing health and wellbeing for those living with mental health challenges, and from disadvantaged sectors of society.

Creativity Works also collaborates very closely with a wide variety of artists, training and developing them with the skills and expertise to work in a variety of different contexts, including with vulnerable and at-risk groups.

Oliver says:

“I am very excited to be joining Creativity Works as its Director. I am immensely impressed by the quality and reach of their work and by their contribution to the Arts and Health agenda locally, regionally and nationally. It is a huge privilege to be part of the Arts Council’s National Portfolio and to see their investment used with such passion, expertise, and commitment. I hope to bring my experience of socially engaged arts practise, along with my experience of working with young people and communities in the UK and abroad to the company.”
