Tuesday 17 September 2013. 9.30am-4pm
Wiltshire Music Centre, Ashley Road, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, BA15 1DZ
The focus for this conference is to share ways of working which can be applied in different settings within non formal music education. There will be chance to reflect and discuss formal and non formal working in both open and targeted areas.
This conference is aimed at emerging and established artists, educators and youth workers to support them to develop and reflect on their practice. The conference will host a series of practical workshops and discussions which will enable participants to take away useful practical and theoretical tools to apply to their area of work.
The event is organised by Wiltshire Youth Arts Partnership’s MusicMatters project, which is a music project for 13-19year olds in Wiltshire giving young people the chance to experience everything to do with writing, playing and recording music. It is part of a broader programme of music provision in Wiltshire called ‘Wiltshire Music Connect’ and is funded in part by Wiltshire Council, Youth Music and The Arts Council.
The day will be hosted by a team of peer mentors and music leaders. There will be a selection of practical workshops to sign up to on the day as well as a chance to explore a market stall area of partner providers.
Speakers for the day:
Phil Mullen- Key note speaker/panel member
Nick Howdle- speaker/panel member
Peer Mentors/musicmatters key staff
