Independent curators Theresa Bergne and Jes Fernie wish to appoint a freelance Marketing Manager to carry out a key role for Future Perfect, an ambitious public art programme in a residential area of south Bristol. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for encouraging active engagement with the programme and promoting Future Perfect to a wide variety of audiences locally, nationally and internationally.
Future Perfectis a two-year area wide initiative curated and developed by curator/commissioner team Theresa Bergne and Jes Fernie. The programme began in January 2012 and will reach a conclusion in December 2013. It is part of a large-scale regeneration scheme spearheaded by Bristol City Council funded through Section 106 funds raised from the developer to mitigate the effect of the overall development.
The programme consists of four commissions by international artists: Matt Stokes, Martino Gamper, David Thorpe and Nils Norman. Martino Gamper’s commission, Archive of Ideas, was realised in 2012; the other commissions will come to fruition in 2013. A further radio broadcasting project is planned in collaboration with young people in Hengrove during 2013.
We are looking for someone with a track record of delivering marketing programmes to a diverse audience within an arts context. The ideal candidate will have experience of developing social media and press campaigns, web editing, copy-editing and writing.
The fee offered for this post is £4,900 (inc. VAT if applicable). It is envisaged that the Marketing Manager will work approximately 25 days over the contract period of 11 months (to be agreed in advance with the curators), with busy periods in April and the Autumn 2013.
