Strong opinions about performance? Practice is a chance for artists and audiences to see and test innovative contemporary performance and dance, then discuss how it could be developed. Four selected extracts of work-in-progress by solo performers and companies will be showcased for discussion with the audience.  Many of these acts go on to develop full-length pieces which will be performed at ICIA and Salisbury Arts Centre.  Come along and say ‘I was there’ when it goes live!

Dance Double Bill:

Breathtaking dance, emotional themes

ICIA Arts Theatre, University of Bath
£12, £10 Concs/ University staff, £7 Bath SU
Box Office: 01225 386777 www.bath.ac.uk/icia

Theo Clinkard’s moving and breathtaking work for six dancers and live piano brims with visceral and eloquent physicality. When words are not enough, Ordinary Courage harnesses movement and touch to communicate as it follows a community in repair.

In 2009 Dan Canham (Kneehigh, DV8, Punchdrunk, Fabulous Beast) made a film in a rotting, dilapidated theatre in Limerick, Ireland. Using that film as source material, this original piece of dance-theatre is a heartbreaking elegy for a lost and ruined theatre.
