20 hours a week (2.5 days), permanent. Salary £15,000 pro rata, plus performance based bonus scheme.
You will manage the Museum shop to achieve sales in excess of £100k p.a. and to provide an interesting retail experience which enhances a visit to the Museum.
You will be responsible for sourcing and selecting new product and commissioning exhibition specific product. You will train and encourage our capable volunteer shop assistants in till work.
You are familiar with EPoS systems, running reports into sales performance, using Excel spreadsheets, and you know how to drive retail profit. You take stock management seriously. You recognise good visual merchandising and know how to make improvements.
This job will suit someone who is experienced in retail management or looking to develop a career in it. Please do not apply if you don’t have this experience or an appetite to develop your professional retail skills at this level.
The Museum is open 7 days a week, therefore your working days will be spread across the week rather than undertaken consecutively. There may also be occasional weekend and evening working.
