What is the Cultural Forum?

The Cultural Forum champions culture and creativity in Bath and beyond. It aims to encourage cultural enterprise, promote cultural literacy and provide cultural leadership.
The objects of the company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to represent, promote and act as the collective voice for the arts and cultural sector in Bath and North East Somerset and the surrounding areas, together with creating and providing initiatives in training and knowledge exchange, advocacy and networking, partnerships and collaborations, research and information and a forum for discussion and debate.
The Cultural Forum’s main current programmes are: supporting capacity-building within and skills sharing between cultural and creative enterprises in the area, to encourage business resilience, business growth and increased employment in the sector; contributing to strategic partnership-building, to help leverage external investment funding into the area for cultural infrastructure, events and activities; and helping promote, regionally, nationally and internationally, Bath and the surrounding area as a major cultural destination.
We started in 2008 as an informal grouping in Bath and have grown in size and ambition.  We are now a Community Interest Company (CIC) with over 90 member organisations and individuals, ranging from large professional organisations with international reputations to local community and amateur groups.

We take a wide definition of the word ‘culture’, with members’ activities including the performing and visual arts, built and natural heritage, museums and galleries, literature and poetry, education and training.
